When you look at the pictures above, its easy to see what T1D looks like. T1D looks like Teagan and it looks like thousands of children and adults battling this disease every day.
In 2013, when Teagan was first diagnosed, we had no idea what was to come but, the one thing we did know was that we had to help find a cure for this unrelenting disease. For that reason, we participated in the JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes and have done so every year since.
Research funds raised through JDRF have brought hope, inspiration and life changing breakthroughs to people living with T1D - new treatments that would have been unthinkable 25 years ago. Yes, we have had insulin since 1922 and yes, insulin has been keeping people alive for almost 100 years but, insulin is not a cure. We need a cure.
Researchers are getting closer than ever to finding that cure but they need research dollars to make it happen…..that’s WHY we walk.
