Support Our #JDRFWalk Journey
Many of you know our son Raj was diagnosed
with Type 1 diabetes at the very young age of 2.
To the outside world he is your typical energetic 11 year old who plays AAA
hockey, provinical level tennis and is a key member of both basketball and
volleyball school teams. Raj trains 7 days a week, often for two sports
in one day with passion, drive and an unmatched work ethic.
What you may not know is that Raj gets blood
taken at least 10 times a day, cannot eat anything without taking insulin,
checks his blood sugars at least once between 1 and 4am every night, and needs
someone trusted around him at all times to avoid the risk of falling
Today we close to 10 years post-diagnosis,
thankfully Raj is doing absolutely amazing. He is truly our hero - a role model
on how to take ownership of his diabetes....AND most importantly to never
let it stop him, not even for one minute.
of you that are available, we are asking that you save the morning of Sunday
June 10th to join our family (Team Raj) in the JDRF’s Walk to cure diabetes at
the CNE Bandshell Park.
We are humbly asking for your support to make a difference for kids like Raj all over the world by helping to fund research into cures and treatments for type 1 diabetes.
